How the directory works
How do I search for a practitioner?
Use the directory to search by name, specialty, or zip code. You can filter by availability to find practitioners who are currently accepting new patients.
Are all practitioners on PULSE verified?
Yes. Every practitioner on PULSE has had their license and NPI number confirmed by our team before their profile went live. You will see a verified badge on every active profile.
What does it mean when a practitioner is not accepting new patients?
The practitioner has temporarily paused new patient bookings. You can save them to your care team and check back later, or search for a similar practitioner who is currently available.
Scheduling appointments
How do I book an appointment?
Open a practitioner profile and click Book an Appointment. Select an available time from their calendar. Your appointment request is confirmed immediately and added to their schedule.
How do I cancel or reschedule?
Go to your patient dashboard, open the Appointments tab, and select the appointment you want to change. Cancellation policies are set by each practitioner individually.
Uploading and managing your records
What types of records can I upload?
You can upload lab results, imaging reports, vaccination records, insurance documents, and intake forms. All files are stored securely and are only visible to you and practitioners you choose to share with.
Can I delete my records?
Yes. Go to your dashboard Records tab and delete any file at any time. Deleted files are permanently removed from our storage.
Managing your PULSE account
Is PULSE free for patients?
Yes. Patient accounts on PULSE are completely free. There are no fees for searching the directory, booking appointments, or storing your records.
How do I reset my password?
On the sign in page click 'Forgot password' and enter your email address. You will receive a reset link within a few minutes.
Data protection and HIPAA considerations
How is my health data protected?
PULSE employs bank-level encryption (256-bit SSL) for all transmitted and stored records. Your personal health information is never sold or shared with third parties.
Who can view my uploaded health documents?
Only you and healthcare practitioners you explicitly authorize or request care from can access your uploaded records.
